Solar

Electricity demand is set to rise faster than global demand for energy as a whole in the coming years.

Our objective is to produce more than 100 TWh per year globally by 2030, which would place us among the world's top five producers of renewable electricity (for wind and solar).

We are focusing our efforts on the fast-growing solar, onshore wind and offshore wind segments, leveraging the many advantages that these abundant, clean, flexible, efficient and competitive sources of energy have to offer.

Solar in the UK

We’re making major investments in electricity from solar to meet the UK’s increasing energy demand and are developing several projects across England and Wales, amounting to around 1 GW of power.

The Staveley Solar Farm is a 40 MW project based in Rutland, England. It will supply enough energy to power Anglian Water’s Wing Water Treatment Works and its wider estate and is part of their plan to decarbonise operations.

In the West Midlands, the Castle Hills Solar Farm which is being proposed near Birmingham Airport will have the capacity to product and export 49.9MW of solar energy – equivalent to powering around 14,000 homes. It will also improve local energy resilience with a 5MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) facility.
