Innovation in the UK

[Maisa, Digital & Data Engine Lead]

We in Aberdeen are doing things differently and pushing boundaries by embracing innovation in all aspects of our business.

[Richard, Continuous Improvement Lead]

The best way to innovate is to get people together, to share ideas, to learn from each other and to collaborate to build better solutions to the challenges we face.

[Hani, Smart Room Team Lead]

We provide people the time and the resources to generate their own ideas. It's all about not accepting that we do things a certain way just because that's the way it's been written.

[Maisa]

Working in an environment that allows me to fail fast and to continuously improve from those failures.

[Kris, Inspection Governance Lead]

You need to replicate success, you need to make it repeatable and you need to make it scalable as far as you can.

[Richard]

Finding better ways of doing it and delivering more value than we did before.

[Laura, Digital & Data Manager]

Within the team we've got a real mix of digital products and solutions that we've either developed or developed for Total Energies. CO2 monitoring for example, through to an application that we brought in that monitors diabetes for the offshore workforce.

[Neal, Smart Room Team Lead]

We've kind of made a smart room of both Elgin Franklin and Colleen and what we do is we try and get synergies from having those rooms together. So how can we share boats, can we share flights, can we share equipment, can we share resources so that we can work together to essentially operate both our sites still independently but also together.

[Kris]

The technology solutions that I use primarily are drones, so a lot of aerial robotic work for both inspection and the methane measurement.

[Laura]

By continuously improving, by bringing in new modern techniques to the way we're working, whether that's behavioural or whether it's digital or whether it's AI.

[Maisa]

It is not only related to technology or products, it is really related to the culture and the mindset of an organisation.

[Neal]

Having the boldness and the courage to try something new, you know, we've got huge amounts of data from how we run these assets so it's taking all that information and kind of pulling it together.

[Maisa]

I feel that any organisation has to take innovation in their culture because this is the only way that they are going to be successful in this dynamic and competitive world we are living in today.
