New UK Managing Director for TotalEnergies E&P business
Following five years in the UK, Jean-Luc Guiziou, Managing Director for TotalEnergies E&P UK and the Company’s UK Country Chair leaves to take up a new role as Senior Vice President for the Exploration and Production business across Europe for TotalEnergies. As such, he becomes part of the Exploration & Production Management Committee, based in Paris.
Nicolas Payer (picutred) takes up the role of Managing Director for the UK E&P business on 9 January. Nicolas has been with TotalEnergies since 1992 (joining Elf, as it was) and has built his experience at HQ level and through a number of international assignments, including E&P. He joins the UK business from TotalEnergies’ Global Procurement team where he has been President since 2019.
Jean-Luc Guiziou came to the UK in 2017 to support the transition process following the acquisition of Maersk Oil by Total. The two organisations formally merged on 2 July 2018, and he became Managing Director of the new organisation, succeeding Elizabeth Proust.
Commenting on his time in the UK, Jean-Luc said: “The last five years have been incredibly fulfilling as we built our new business following the merger. Since then, and as a team, we have grown and changed, responded to the climate challenge, contributed to the energy transition and navigated work during a global pandemic. I am very proud of what we have achieved here in the UK, both as TotalEnergies and an industry, and I want to thank our teams for their support and dedication during this time. I offer Nicolas my best wishes and support in his new role, and look forward to seeing how the UK E&P business continues to prosper under his leadership.”
