Electric Mobility: TotalEnergies Brings 66 New Public Charge Points to Islington
London, 25 June 2026 – TotalEnergies is expanding its electric vehicle charging network in Islington, with the installation of 66 new 22 kW charge points across the borough in June 2026. The expansion forms part of Islington’s latest EV charging rollout, and brings the TotalEnergies network in Islington to 415 sockets, giving EV drivers more convenient access to local charging in key local areas.
By expanding charging availability, the rollout supports the borough’s ambition to facilitate the transition to electric mobility and provide EV charging for residents, businesses and visitors where they need it.
More charging options across North London
With this latest expansion, TotalEnergies is strengthening its presence across several high-demand areas in Islington, including around Caledonian, Canonbury, Hillrise, Finsbury Park and other local neighborhoods. TotalEnergies aims to make everyday EV charging simpler for residents, commuters and visitors by providing a reliable network of public charge points across the borough.
Each new installation provides two dedicated EV parking bays, energised with an AC 22 kW dual-connection charger. This power range can support a typical EV battery to reach a full charge in around two to four hours, making it well-suited both for drivers charging overnight or for others looking for a few hours top up during the day.
Making EV charging easier across London
For both Pay As You Go customers and TotalEnergies subscribers, the Islington expansion provides more convenient places to plug in across North London and strengthens the local network in areas where demand continues to grow.
Drivers can use the TotalEnergies “Charge Europe” app or online charger map to find nearby charge points, check availability and plan their charging around their journey. They can alsochoose the option that best suits their needs: charge benefiting from lower rates with a membership subscription, or use Pay As You Go access via contactless payment at every charger.
Nicolas Garnier, Managing Director of TotalEnergies Charging Solutions UK, says:
“We are delighted to contribute to Islington’s latest EV charging rollout through the deployment of 66 new charge points (132 sockets) across the borough. This expansion reflects our commitment to providing reliable and convenient charging solutions that support the growing needs of EV drivers and support the transition to electric mobility across London.”
