How can the construction sector build a greener future? TotalEnergies features in Construction & Civil Engineering

TotalEnergies has been featured online in the July issue of CCE magazine discussing the importance of the use of renewable materials and minimising energy consumption in the construction sector.

Historically, lubricants have been seen as something of a technical detail, but according to TotalEnergies’ research, the right lubricants can help significantly reduce fuel and energy consumption, providing substantive benefits including cost savings.

According to the International Energy Agency, around one-third of global energy emissions in 2021 arose either directly or indirectly from the buildings sector, with around six per cent of the global total coming from manufacturing construction materials, such as steel and cement. In March 2023, Green Alliance also released a confronting report, which found that the construction industry is the UK’s biggest user of non-renewable materials and generates almost two-thirds of the country’s total waste output.

TotalEnergies continues to develop innovative solutions for the construction industry ranging from Total Biotraffic 1000 FE 10W-30 - the 100% biodegradable synthetic oil using our Fuel Economy Technology (suitable for leading OEMs such Caterpillar, John Deere and Volvo) - to our ANAC lubricant analysis service which helps customers better understand the condition of their plant and vehicles and diagnose potential problems before they begin to have an adverse effect on consumption, emissions and productivity.
